Marc Lamont Hill

New Teague Lecture to Feature Marc Lamont Hill

Mary Baldwin University is pleased to announce Dr. Marc Lamont Hill as the speaker for the inaugural Teague Lecture, a new annual lecture series. A TV host, author, scholar, and activist, Hill will share thoughts on “Building Community in an Hour of Chaos” at 7 p.m. on October 21. With a bold vision of the future, Hill sees social progress and the pursuit of equality depending on listening to each other while adopting a fearless attitude toward change.


Outdoor Performance Space at Rose Terrace

First Performance for MBU's Outdoor Rose Terrace

Mary Baldwin University (MBU) has announced the first production for its new outdoor performance space, the Rose Theatre, located beside Rose Terrace, a unique historic building which looks out across downtown Staunton from the MBU hill. At 7 p.m. on October 4 and 5, students in the master of fine arts (MFA) program in Shakespeare and Performance will stage A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Rose Theatre.

New MBU Campus Cupboard to Help Combat Food Insecurity

Dr. Ernest Jeffries, vice president for student engagement, has worked to address food insecurity on college campuses for many years and now brings his vision to MBU. “Unfortunately, college students represent a significant number of those in our nation that are suffering from poverty and food insecurity. Current literature suggests that the rate of food insecurity among American college students is four times the national average.”

Applied Behavior Analysis Program Earns First-Ever Intl. Designation

Mary Baldwin University’s Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) graduate program has earned a trailblazing designation among university programs globally. It is now listed as an Approved Content Provider by the International Behavior Analysis Organization (IBAO), an international ABA credentialing organization.
