The Grafton Society

Grafton Society - The Graftons PosterThe Grafton Society is a special Reunion society that recognizes Mary Baldwin graduates of 50 or more years. In 1997, Mary Baldwin renamed The 50 Plus Club to The Grafton Society in honor of Martha Stackhouse Grafton and Dr. Thomas H. Grafton. Mrs. Grafton served the college as former Registrar, Dean, and Interim President, and Dr. Grafton was Head of the Department of Sociology. The society inducts its newest members, those celebrating their 50th Reunion, into its ranks annually during Reunion weekend activities in the spring.

The Medallion

At every induction ceremony, the incoming class of Grafton Society members are inducted individually. As their name is called, they also receive a customized Grafton Society Medallion, uniquely designed for Grafton Society members. Each year, the members of the Grafton Society are invited back to Reunion weekend and the induction ceremony, and are encouraged to wear their medallions for the official society photo.
