Lynn Mulherin '85Lynn Mulherin '85 is commissioner for the Florida Department of Education's Commission for Independent Education. In her career, Lynn has used the power of technology in higher education to help learners prepare for a digital economy through online education. Having spent 25 years working for the University of Phoenix, which pioneered online learning through digital platforms, Lynn experienced first hand the growth of online learning and the digital economy. Discover how she took those skills and launched a new technology platform, Pearls of Wisdom, that allows individuals to share and celebrate milestone moments with loved ones near and far. Learn all about the evolution of the digital economy, and how you can better prepare yourself for the changing world around us. As Lynn says, “We are in this together, learning together, and we all must remain lifelong learners.”



Bringing Grafton Library to your living room

Grafton Library, as she takes alumni and guests on a special virtual tour of the Grafton Library website to bring the library’s “homepage” into your home. This virtual tour will involve services, policies, and resources that the Mary Baldwin alumni community can access from home.

Tracy Hiner '12As the executive chef in 2005, Tracy Hiner '12, director of dining services at Mary Baldwin University introduced “She-crab soup” to Mary Baldwin University, and he never could have imagined how popular this menu item would become. Fast forward to today, and this soup remains a favorite among students, staff, faculty, and even to our visiting alumni and prospective MBU families. Though we are temporarily distanced from campus we can still share great food at home together as a #MBUfamily. Chatting with Mr. M

Donte Montague '15Donté Montague ’15, educator with Staunton City Public Schools, is beloved by his 4th grade students who fondly call him “Mr. M.” Join Mr. M as he shares his insight and expertise in navigating the conclusion of the academic school year at home for parents, children and educators alike. In 2017, Donté was named the Teacher of the Year in the Staunton City School system. In 2018, Montague was one of 10 recipients of the prestigious Dawbarn Education Awards recognizing outstanding educators in Staunton, Waynesboro and Augusta County schools.
